The fact of the matter is I don’t care what the calendar says I am perpetually young, about 25 or 26 to be exact. Youth is more about the mind and how we take of ourselves than anything else. I’ve seen people (you have too) that was shocked when I found out how old they are versus their appearance. I remember talking to a woman about four years ago. I figured she was younger than me, but maybe just by a couple of years. She was almost ten years younger than me. Internally shocked. Another time I was talking to a woman thinking she was younger than me and she had two grown children, one out of college. I was floored when she told me she was nearly 60. I don’t mean she looked “good for age”…she just looked good!
People are often shocked when they find out I’m younger than I am, but that’s mainly because I act like a big kid. I love to play, laugh, joke and I think besides good DNA and a good lifestyle, that’s the secret. Do you ever feel like the joy in life is gone? Do you remember when you kid and hopefully you had the experience of just being able to run with wild abandon. Don’t get me wrong, I get by with a little help from my friends…creams and washes. But the secret to my agelessness…JOY AND LAUGHTER AND IMMATURITY. There are days when my body feels its age, it’s a little harder to lose and maintain weight but when I walk past the mirror I like what I see when I’m looking at me (thank you Mary J. Blige).
So how old am I? As soon as you get a signed order from President Obama I will gladly tell you 😉
